I like the simplicity of this drawing, the block colours contrasts with the detail on the tower, which makes it stand out more, so it appears like it is rising above the rest of the city - which is what I want to achieve, the idea that these buildings are striving for something new.
Started using collage more, which I think is effective - makes it quite similar to the blocky style of the revolution posters.
I have started using the colours red, black, white more in my sketches, as red was considered the colour of the revolution.
I want to ty and combine the structures; maybe even just the outline of the structures, with images or symbols of revolution. So it looks like the revolution is building the structures.
(poster sketches - red and black)
I really like the composition of these sketches, the buildings appear very bold, and intimidating as they tower over everything else. The boldness of it, and the colours does resemble the revolution posters quite a bit. As they often have a bold figure in the foreground looking fierce, determined and a bit intimidating, and I want my structures to have a similar effect.
